Egmond aan Zee has been part of the municipality of Bergen (North Holland) since 2001 but has retained its own identity. Egmond is located directly on the North Sea beach where you can do many other activities besides sunbathing, such as: a motor boat cruise, surf surfing, power kiting and horse riding and of course walking. Lighthouse J.C.J van Speijk is prominent and can be seen from almost anywhere in Egmond. The many Hotels, Cafés and Restaurants already indicate how cozy it is here during the summer months.
On the Pompplein you will find the 1000-year-old water pump that has been restored since 2011 and here you can enjoy various performances, fairgrounds or festivities organized by the Ondernemersvereniging de Eendracht from the many terraces in the summer. There is the annual Fishery Day, the walk to the Pomp festival which is performed every Sunday on the square and 2x a fair.
Egmond is ideally suited for families but also for older tourists. Wheelchair-friendly and plenty of parking options make Egmond the holiday destination par excellence. The bus transport from Alkmaar (Bus 165) will take you to the Front street (center) of Egmond aan Zee.
Of Egmond dunes (7000 hectares) are unique in the Netherlands and have wonderful walking and cycling routes.

Egmond is extremely suitable for families but also for older tourists. Wheelchair friendly and sufficient Parking facilities make Egmond an excellent holiday destination. The bus connection (Bus 165) between Egmond aan Zee and Alkmaar takes only 25 minutes.

Webcam Egmond aan Zee Beach
Egmond aan Zee is the best known of the three Egmonds.
More than 1000 years ago, the village originated as a fishing village, but it has had a tourist interest since the beginning of the last century. Both the fishing and touristic past are still clearly visible in the street scene. Prominent on the boulevard is the Jan van Speyk lighthouse which can be seen from all over the village.
The village offers a lot of entertainment to the holidaymaker. terraces, restaurants, and a shopping area with something for everyone. There is one every week in summer event with lots of village entertainment that will delight you on it Pompplein from a terrace.
The shops are open 7 days a week all year round and are easily accessible to everyone.
The wide beach offers countless possibilities for relaxation: beach chairs, sunbeds, wind screens and beach pavilions.
